Triathlon Backpacks

Triathlon Backpacks

Zoot triathlon backpacks have room for everything you take to training and races: helmet, wetsuit, shoes and nutrition. Both models have a moulded EVA helmet compartment and a removable, welded wet compartment that keeps your wet wetsuit away from the rest of your kit. Take the 42-litre Ultra Triathlon Bag to races and on trips, and the 25-litre Ultra Triathlon Backpack with laptop compartment to training and work. Below you will find which backpack suits you, both models compared and answers to common questions.

Which backpack for which job?

On race day you carry a lot more than on a normal training day: helmet, wetsuit, bike and run shoes, race suit, nutrition, pump and spares. The Ultra Triathlon Bag has room for all of it in 42 litres, two bottle pockets and a triathlon checklist printed inside, so nothing stays at home. The Ultra Triathlon Backpack is the smaller everyday pack with 25 litres: for a swim session before work, the ride to the office with a laptop, or a brick session after work.

Before and after the race

  • Checklist: In the Ultra Triathlon Bag, the triathlon checklist is printed on the inside, so you can tick off your kit while you pack.
  • Helmet: It goes into the moulded helmet compartment, where it is protected and does not squash the rest of your kit.
  • Transition: At many races, backpacks are not allowed at your spot on the bike rack, and at IRONMAN races you get separate transition bags from the organiser. In that case, you use your backpack to carry everything to check-in.
  • Wetsuit: After the race, roll your wet wetsuit into the removable wet compartment. That way your dry clothes stay dry for the trip home.

Travelling to a race

The Ultra Triathlon Bag measures 58 x 30 x 35 cm and weighs 1.8 kg. Many airlines allow a maximum length of 55 cm for cabin baggage, so check the limits of your airline before you fly. The Ultra Triathlon Backpack has a sleeve on the back that slides over the handle of your suitcase.

Complete your race kit

For the swim you will find the right triathlon wetsuit, for the race itself our tri suits and aero calf sleeves. Race belts and timing chip straps are in our triathlon accessories.
