Cycling Jerseys
Cycling jerseys for road and gravel riding: close-fitting aero jerseys in Italian Aeromax fabric, long-sleeve jerseys with UPF 50+, thermal jerseys for cold mornings and Recon jerseys for mixed terrain. Below you will find how our jersey lines differ, when to choose short sleeves, long sleeves or a thermal jersey, which details matter on a jersey and answers to common questions.
LTD, Elite, Core+ or Recon?
Our four jersey lines differ in cut, fabric and how much you can carry.
| Line | Fit and fabric | Pockets | Sun protection |
|---|---|---|---|
| LTD Cycle Aero Jersey | Close race fit with extended sleeves, Italian Aeromax fabric (115 g/m²) and a mesh back | Three rear pockets | UPF 35 |
| Elite Cycle Aero Jersey | Aero cut in Italian Aeromax fabric, elastic waist with silicone grip | Three rear pockets plus a zipped security pocket | UPF 35+ |
| Core+ Cycle Jersey (women) | A more relaxed fit in polyester knit, with mesh side panels | Three rear pockets | UPF 30 |
| Recon Cycle Jersey | Italian Aeromax fabric, mesh back and reflective trim for gravel and long days out | Three rear pockets, two side pockets and a zipped pocket | UPF 35 |
Men's and women's jerseys are cut differently. You will find them on the pages for men's cycling jerseys and women's cycling jerseys.
Short sleeves, long sleeves or thermal?
| Your ride | Jersey | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Warm days, fast group rides | Short-sleeve aero jersey | Light Aeromax fabric that wicks sweat, a mesh back for ventilation |
| Long rides in strong sun | LTD Cycle Sun Stop Longsleeve Jersey | Ultra-light knit (140 g/m²) with UPF 50+ on your arms. The xylitol-printed interior feels cooling when you wet it. |
| Cool mornings | Elite long-sleeve jersey | Aeromax fabric with long sleeves, four rear pockets and UPF 35+ |
| Cold days | Thermal jersey | Warmer fabrics such as Italian Quadtech, brushed-back Gavia or Hallocore fleece |
Which details matter on a cycling jersey?
- Full-length zip: lets you vent on climbs and makes the jersey easy to put on. Our LTD, Core+ and Recon jerseys have a full-length Cam Lock zip; the LTD thermal jerseys add a zip garage at the collar for comfort.
- Pockets that do not sag: on the LTD Aero, Elite Aero and Recon jerseys, the mesh back and pockets are built to limit stretch, so loaded pockets stay in place.
- A hem that stays put: a silicone gripper stops the jersey riding up, so the pockets stay within reach.
- Visibility: the Recon jerseys and the Elite Hallocore Thermal Jersey have reflective details. The LTD thermal jerseys also come in Hi Viz Yellow, Hi Viz Pink and Safety Yellow.
- Fit: Zoot jerseys are cut race fit. If you are between two sizes or want a less compressive feel, choose the next size up.
FAQ
What makes a cycling jersey different from a running shirt?
The rear pockets, the zip and the cut. A cycling jersey is longer at the back so it covers you in the riding position, it has pockets for food, a pump and your phone, and a front zip so you can regulate your temperature.
How many pockets does a cycling jersey need?
Three rear pockets are enough for most rides. If you carry keys or cards, a zipped pocket like the one on our Elite jerseys keeps them safe. For long gravel days, the Recon Cycle Jersey has six pockets in total.
Do I need a special jersey for gravel?
A road jersey works, but our Recon range is built for it. The Recon Cycle Jersey adds side pockets and a zipped pocket for spares, and the lightweight Recon Dirt Shirt has mesh sides, a dropped tail for extra coverage and UPF 50+. More is in our gravel clothing.
