Aero Calf Sleeves
Aero calf sleeves from Zoot smooth the airflow around your lower legs on the bike and protect your skin from the sun. Choose between the Ultra P1x in wind-tunnel-tested 3D AeroWeave fabric and the Elite in ribbed Highway aero fabric. Both models are unisex and come in sizes XS to 2XL for women and men. They are footless, so you can pull them on under your wetsuit before the swim and wear the socks you prefer. Why a textured fabric is faster than bare skin
Behind a smooth calf, the airflow breaks away early and leaves a large wake of swirling air that holds you back. A textured surface such as raised ridges or ribs keeps the air close to the leg for longer, so the wake behind it becomes smaller. The effect grows with speed: at race pace in the aero position it counts, on an easy ride it hardly matters. That is why calf sleeves are a race-day tool, especially for long bike legs at 70.3 and Ironman distance.

The Ultra P1x is our fastest and lightest calf sleeve. The Elite is the more affordable option with a slightly heavier, ribbed fabric.
How to use them on race day
- Swim: Pull the sleeves on before the start and wear them under your wetsuit, so you do not lose time in transition. In non-wetsuit swims, calf sleeves are generally not allowed under World Triathlon rules. Check the athlete guide of your race.
- Bike: This is where the sleeves do their aero work. Wear them with the socks you prefer or without socks.
- Run: Keep them on. They sit close to the skin and do not slip thanks to the gripper at the top.
Which size fits?
Our calf sleeves are cut race fit and sit tight on the calf, so the fabric does not fold. The Italian gripper at the top holds them in place. If you are between sizes or prefer less compression, go one size up.

Are the calf sleeves for women and men?
Yes. Both models are unisex and come in sizes XS to 2XL. The cut is the same for women and men. Our product photos show the sleeves on a male model.
Can I wear calf sleeves in training?
Yes. On long rides in the sun, UPF 50 protects your calves from sunburn. And if you want to race in them, try them on a few longer sessions first so you know how they feel.
Are these compression sleeves?
They sit tight and give a firm, compressive fit, but they are designed for aerodynamics and sun protection, not as medical compression or recovery products.
Can I shorten the Ultra P1x?
Yes. The seamless ankle of the Ultra P1x is designed so you can cut it to the length you want.
