Which men's bib shorts suit your riding?

Most riders pick the shorts first, because the chamois decides how comfortable the third and fourth hour feel. All models below have a chamois designed for men. For women's cuts, see women's cycling clothing.

Elite Cycle Cargo BibTMF multi-density with carbonSelf-supported rides and gravel, with pockets on both legs and on the bib upper

Prefer shorts without straps? The men's cycling shorts use the same chamois, with a waistband instead of bib straps.

Which jersey goes with it?

  • LTD Cycle Aero Jersey: Italian Aeromax fabric, extended sleeves to reduce drag, a mesh back for ventilation and three rear pockets. Available in many designs that match our bib shorts.
  • Elite Cycle Aero Jersey: the same aero cut with four rear pockets, one of them zipped for keys and cards, and a mesh back panel that stops loaded pockets from sagging.
  • Sun Stop long-sleeve jersey: UPF 50+ on your arms for long rides in strong sun. Wet the fabric and the xylitol print on the inside creates a cooling effect.
  • Thermal jerseys: Italian Quadtech fabric or Hallocore fleece for cold mornings and the shoulder seasons.
  • Recon jerseys: lightweight tops for gravel and mixed terrain, with mesh panels on the sides to release heat.

Many jerseys and bib shorts share the same design, so you can put together a matching road kit. For layering by temperature, see our overview of cycling clothing.

How men's jerseys and bibs should fit

  • A road jersey sits close to the body without creasing on the chest. On the bike, the hem should cover your lower back and the sleeves should not flap.
  • Bib shorts should hold the chamois in place without you noticing them. The straps lie flat over your shoulders, and the leg grippers sit firmly without cutting in.
  • Zoot LTD and Elite are cut race fit. If you are between sizes or prefer less compression, choose the next size up.

FAQ

Bib shorts or cycling shorts: which is better for men?

For long rides, bib shorts. The straps hold the chamois in position without a waistband pressing on your stomach in the riding position. Shorts with a waistband are quicker to put on and suit shorter rides.

Which men's bib shorts are best for long rides?

The Elite Cycle Bib and the LTD Seamless Bib Short with the PRO CARBON chamois, or the LTD Exos Bib with compression fabric. For rides where you carry everything yourself, the cargo bibs give you extra pockets.

How tight should a men's cycling jersey be?

Close enough that it does not flutter at speed, but without restricting your breathing. If the jersey rides up or the pockets sag when loaded, it is too big.
